x86's strongest competitor in the laptop scene has arrived as Qualcomm Snapdragon X-equipped machines announced by Microsoft and partners

The launch of the Qualcomm Snapdragon X series processors has been welcomed with strong support from OEMs and partner brands, with Microsoft officially naming them Copilot+ PCs and featuring more AI-focused hardware and a more expansive ecosystem.

Official benchmarks show that the leading SKU, Snapdragon X Elite, is currently the most competitive offering with its NPU delivering a Performance-per-Watt ratio up to 2.6 times better than Apple M3 and up to 5.4 times better than Intel’s Core Ultra 7, thanks to the integrated Qualcomm Hexagon NPU architecture.

With offerings from brands like Microsoft, Dell, HP, Lenovo, Samsung, Acer, and possibly more in the future, here is a summary of their products:

The Acer Swift 14 AI includes up to a 2.5K touchscreen, an AI logo on the cover, and an Activity Indicator on the touchpad to inform users about their surroundings. It also features PurifiedView 2.0 and PurifiedVoice 2.0 for clear video and audio calls.

ASUS presents the Vivobook S 15, weighing 1.42kg and 14.7mm thick, designed for portability and user experience. It boasts up to 18 hours of battery life and a variety of I/O ports, including USB4, HDMI 2.1, and microSD card. The 15.6-inch 3K 120Hz ASUS Lumina OLED screen and Harmon Kardon Dolby Atmos audio system enhance its versatility.

Dell is targeting a broad market segment with models like the XPS 13, Inspiron 14 Plus, Inspiron 14, Latitude 7455, and Latitude 5455, providing efficient and high-performance options for both consumer and commercial users. More details on the full lineup are available here.

HP introduces the OmniBook X AI and EliteBook Ultra AI laptops, featuring up to 26 hours of battery life, Wolf Pro Security Next Gen Antivirus at the firmware level, a three-year warranty, and Microsoft Secured-Core PC designation.

Lenovo's Yoga Slim 7x weighs just 1.28kg and is 12.9mm thin. It features a 14.5-inch 16:10 3K PureSight OLED touch screen with 1000 nits peak brightness and "duo 100%" color gamut for both sRGB and DCI-P3. The 1080p MIPI IR webcam and HD microphone ensure clear video and audio, while the Lenovo AI Core management layer optimizes power management for maximum battery life.

Microsoft's new Surface Laptops, available in 13.8-inch and 15-inch options in four colorways, are powered by either the X Elite or X Plus processor. Higher-end models feature an HDR-compliant OLED display and ultra-wide FOV camera enhanced with Windows Studio Effects while the new Surface Pro Flex Keyboard offers flexible usage options.

Surface Pro variants are also obtainable for your needs and preferences.

The Samsung Galaxy Book4 Edge, available in 14-inch and 16-inch sizes, features Dynamic AMOLED 2X panels and the powerful Snapdragon X series chipset. Samsung's in-house AI functions, such as Circle to Search, Live Translate, and Chat Assist, position it ahead in the "smart AI PC" market.
