Synology adds new DiskStation DS1825+ and DS1525+ NAS for SMBs and power users

Synology has introduced 2 new NAS models for advanced users and SMBs which are the DS1825+ and DS1525+ models.

Both systems are equipped with dual 2.5GbE ports and support faster networking through expansion. The DS1525+ allows 10GbE upgrades via Synology’s E10G22-T1-Mini module, while the DS1825+ features a PCIe 3.0 slot for even higher bandwidth upgrades, including 25GbE. Each also includes two M.2 slots, enabling SSD caching or the creation of all-flash storage volumes.

When paired with SSDs, the DS1825+ delivers impressive sequential SMB performance, reaching up to 2,239 MB/s read and 1,573 MB/s write speeds. The DS1525+ follows closely behind, with read and write speeds topping 1,181 MB/s and 1,180 MB/s, respectively.

If needed, add up to 2x DX525 expansion units for additional storage, which are compatible with both models as well, enabling up to 360TB of storage.

The OS will be Synology’s DiskStation Manager (DSM) as usual to allow these NAS units to also serve as full-featured business platforms.

Integrated applications include Synology Drive for private cloud file syncing, Active Backup Suite for centralized data protection across devices and virtual machines, and Surveillance Station for advanced video monitoring with smart analytics.
